Day 1 Fri Jun 18:
We depart north to the Holiday Inn Express in White River Junction, VT. Before checking in, we will stop at the Yankee Candle Company in South Deerfield, MA, for lunch and shopping on your own. We'll have a delicious ice cream treat upon departure. After our late afternoon check-in, we will have an included meal at a local restaurant. Following dinner, we will visit the Quechee Balloon Festival to witness the magnificent balloon glow.
DDay 2 Sat Jun 19:
Breakfast is included each morning at our hotel. This morning we depart for Billins Farm & Museum. The working farm and living history museum is dedicated to farming and offers interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Explore the working barns, farmhouse, and agricultural museum. A picnic lunch will be included during our stay. This afternoon, we make our way to Quechee Gorge- "Vermont's little Grand Canyon". While here, visit shops like the Cabot Cheese Annex, Vermont Spirits Distilling Company, and Danforth Pewter. Next, we arrive at the festival grounds where the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. Live entertainment, crafters, and of course, balloons! Marvel at the evening lift-off (weather permitting). Dinner is on your own this evening at one of the local vendors.
B, LDay 3 Sun Jun 20:
This morning we set out for an afternoon visit to Saint-Gaudens National Historic Park. We will make our way through the studio and gardens of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Next, we make our way to Lake Sunapee and hop on board a Lake Sunapee cruise for a delightful 2-hour narrated lunch cruise. You will see three historic operating lighthouses, lakeside homes, and gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Our final stop is the flagship store of King Arthur Baking Company.The store offers mouthwatering products and a little something for everyone. Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant.
B, L , DDay 4 Mon Jun 21:
After breakfast, we say goodbye to Vermont's colorful Quechee Balloon Festival and begin our journey home. We will make a stop at the Vermont Country Store in Rockingham, where you will find a large collection of quality goods, nostalgic treasures, home goods, and candy. We should arrive back home in the early evening.
