Day 1 Sun Oct 4:
This morning, we begin our journey to the Adirondacks of New York. Our first stop is in Saratoga Springs at the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame. We will enjoy a docent-led tour exploring the history of American thoroughbred racing, followed by the screening of the signature film "What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame". We continue to the heart of Lake George and check into the Holiday Inn, our home for the next two nights. Dinner is included tonight at the Golden Corral.
DDay 2 Mon Oct 5:
Breakfast is included each morning in our hotel. Today, we journey along Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway to the summit of Prospect Mountain. Three scenic overlooks provide 360-degree views of the Narrows, Lake George, and Eagle's Eye. We return to downtown Lake George for lunch and shopping on your own. We begin the afternoon with a tour and tasting at the headquarters of Adirondack Winery. We end the afternoon with a visit to Fort William Henry, where you will interact with costumed British regulars, provincial troops, and Native American interpreters. For dinner, we hop aboard a scenic sunset dinner cruise with the Lake George Steamboat Company. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner while taking in the sights of Lake George.
B, DDay 3 Tue Oct 6:
We say goodbye to Lake George and begin our journey north to Lake Placid. This morning we will stop in Tupper Lake to visit The Wild Center. This fascinating Natural History Museum comes alive during the fall. Walk the trail of bridges nestled in the treetops and see the trolls. Lunch and shopping on your own will be in downtown Tupper Lake. We arrive in Lake Placid and check into the Cambria Lake Placid for our two-night stay. Dinner tonight will be served at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery.
B, DDay 4 Wed Oct 7
This morning, we make our way along the Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway. Rising over 2300 feet in just five miles, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Adirondack landscape, Vermont, and Canada. At the summit, visit the castle built from native stone, ride the elevator carved deep into the mountain, and visit the gift shop. Our next stop brings us to the Lake Placid Olympic Jumping Complex, where we will enjoy a private tour of the facility, including the Skyride Experience. Lunch on your own today will be on Main Street- be sure to stop at Emma's Ice Cream! We begin the afternoon with a visit to the Olympic Center, where we are joined by local guides for a private tour. We end the afternoon with a visit to Mt Van Hoevenberg for a private tour. Dinner is on your own this evening.
BDay 5 Thu Oct 8:
We say goodbye to the Adirondacks and begin our journey home filled with spectacular memories and the desire to become an Olympian. We should arrive home in the early evening.
