Day 1 Sun May 4:
Today we depart for the Hudson Valley region. We start our day with an included lunch at Coppola's Italian Restaurant in Hyde Park, NY. After lunch we will have a guided tour of Springwood, boyhood home of Franklin D. Roosevelt. While there you can visit the FDR Presidential Library and Museum. This afternoon we check into the Holiday Inn Express in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dinner tonight is included at a local restaurant.
L , DDay 2 Mon May 5:
Breakfast is included each morning at our hotel. Highlights today are: We start today off with a Guided tour of Olana, home of Hudson River School painter Frederic Edwin Church and family. Next lunch on your own will be in Rhinebeck, NY. This afternoon we will have a guided tour of Wilderstein, home of FDR cousin and confidante, Daisy Suckley and family. We will also have a step-on guide led tour of the Walkway over the Hudson. Dinner tonight again is included at a local restaurant.
B, DDay 3 Tue May 6:
We start our day off with a guided tour of Vanderbilt Mansion. Lunch today is on your own at Eveready Diner. After lunch we will have a step-on guide led tour of the grounds of Valkill, home of Eleanor Roosevelt and tour of St. James Episcopal Church. This afternoon we will travel to the CIA Experience at the Culinary Institute of America: Meet students, tasting exercise, and guided tour. Dinner tonight is included at the CIA.
B, DDay 4 Wed May 7:
After we check out and before we go home, we will have a guided tour of the campus of the United States Military Academy at West Point. While there we will have a self-guided visit to the West Point Museum and included buffet lunch at the historic Thayer Hotel on the West Point campus. We end our visit with a tour and tasting at Brotherhood Winery, America's oldest continuosly operating winery. We will arrive back home in the early evening with great memories and new friends.
